My latest project at university was based on three themes. I choose to focus on three that would contrast but would still allow me to blend then together. I decided to look at Francis Bacon as emotion and drama, Salvador Dali for surrealism and finally Taxidermy for texture and colour. After researching and experimenting with these three themes I began to but these designs together. I decided to stick with this illustrative style that I have been developing since my art foundation course. I have changed the face and hair to adapt it to the theme and feel I wanted to create from the illustrations. I really enjoy woking like this and feel very happy with them. I would love to know what the readers think?? I have tried to include flowing shapes and iridescent colours to hint at the surrealism and structural tailoring to emit the stiffness of emotion. Finally i have tried to stick with a limited colour palette combined with rough textured fabrics to relate back to the taxidermy aspects of my research.
